Trump is OJ for white people.

They know I did all that stuff, they just don't care. Some people tell pollsters they won't vote for me if I'm convicted. Ask them if your baby is beautiful. They're all going to say yes.

I hope he's wrong about the undying love of his supporters. They have stuck with him as he has crossed line after line of the boundaries of responsible and decent behavior.

Has something changed? He appears abandoned by family, friends, and supporters in the New York courtroom- everybody but the Supreme Court. Is there a last straw, even in MAGA-land? Naps and farts. Real billionaires are concerned. You gotta love American democracy.

Do you watch sports, news, neither, or both?

Thinking about the nonsense that passes for political dialog in contemporary America, I have to believe that there are a substantial number of people who watch almost no news, don't read newspapers, and don't seek out reliable online news. I worked with a lot of people who appeared to absorb no political information but had detailed understanding and familiarity with what was happening in sports. This became more pronounced with the emergence of ESPN, other cable sports outlets, and the widespread adoption of smart phones.

My question: do you think there are more people who watch 10 hours a week or more of sports or people who watch 1 hour or more of news a week?

Lara Trump's RNC litmus (lie-tmus) test.

Four blondes, no joke.

During part of my misspent youth, I hung out with a friend who occasionally tried to talk me into questionable behavior. One of his favorite lines was "You lie and I'll swear to it."

Uncle Sam has a question for all Americans.

It's hard to believe any loyal American would support a dictator seeking retribution...or a dictator who kills his political opponents and invades his democratic neighbors.

Is one of these men too old to be president?

The NYT headline on the Hur report was "Special Counsel's Report Puts Biden's Age and Memory in the Spotlight." The fact that Biden was exonerated of any and all charges seems to have escaped their notice.

Stink eye at Home Depot.

Like so many misadventures, today's drama started with innocent good intentions- a trip to Home Depot to replace my bird feeder. I wandered up and down several aisles in a fruitless quest to find either 1) a bird feeder or 2) an employee who could tell me where to find the bird feeders. Finally, I spotted an employee- an older gentleman wearing the telltale orange apron of his clan. He was busy helping a short woman. I pulled up behind them and waited unobtrusively for them to finish their conversation.

It seems the woman was looking for a specific light bulb. She was reading off 14-digit part numbers to the employee who laboriously entered the same numbers into the inventory app on his phone, waited a few seconds, and then said "Nope." This process was repeated with the same outcome. After the third attempt, which evidently was not the charm, the woman was saying "well, I could order it online but that would probably take THREE days..." at which point the employee turned his head slightly to acknowledge my presence. Grabbing the moment like a life raft I blurted out: "Excuse me, do you know where I can find the bird feeders?" He said "if we have them they'd be against the wall (pointing)."

The short woman turned around 180 degrees and stunned me with some world-class stink eye for interrupting her light bulb consultation. My instinct was to bow and offer a plaintive "I am not worthy"...but in a rare (for me) moment of lucidity, I said nothing and scuttled away.

Coda: They didn't have any bird feeders against the wall. I fled the store.
